I’m the dietitian, recipe developer, and nurse behind Nourish RN.
My goal is to help you create satisfying, delicious, and easy-to-prepare recipes and meals so you can eat better at work and at home.
My Story
I’ve made a few pivots in my career from the early days where I worked as a line cook and recipe developer, to following my curiosity about food and nutrition as I became a registered dietitian, then finally discovering my love of working one-on-one with patients as a registered nurse.
What I didn’t expect in a career focused on health and wellness were the challenges of maintaining my own well-being working 12 hour shifts. Or, the stress of being on call, switching between days and nights, and having an irregular schedule.
If I can be totally honest with you, my early days in nursing took a real toll on my own eating habits and my health. I felt crummy, tired, and worn down. I nibbled away on countless snacks in the break room, and depended on caffeine to stay awake on night shift.
Then I started to turn things around.
I created simple recipes focused on flavor-packed, veggie-centric foods, and made it a focus to plan and pack weekly meals for myself and my family. And you know what? I felt better. And my family and I ate better. We had food in the fridge that was ready or could quickly be prepared so that we didn’t have to rely on “kid-friendly” convenience foods or takeout as often.
